Dear Nelson-bab, Thank you for your wishes ...and understanding. I have interspersed my comments to save time and energy, as suggested by you. At New Year, I have turned a new leaf. I am a gardener by profession , after all ;-)

Comment: I steal it from my sleep and entertainment ..... for the sake of Goa that I love just as you do. You also like to sing your own praises, nothing wrong in it, but it would be more meaningful if others do it. Just as you would like to be appreciated for all the good things you do, others would like it too. Pride and ego will not get you anywhere but a little bit of humility will! Comment: Exactly my views. The humble shall be exalted. I follow Christ. There is no better experience in life than travelling and meeting people, otherwise you will be like a frog in the pond.It might be a good idea to take time off from GOANET. you can freshen your brains and come out with novel ideas of solving Goas problems. Comment: As I wrote earlier, I am a gardener. I travel around to do gardens and breathe fresh air. On 13 and 20 December our group from the Botanical Society of Goa [BSG] will be travelling around Goa to judge home gardens. In the BSG, I am the LEAST AMONG EQUALS [and mind you, I am not mocking]. The post is of the President, held for three years. On 01 April, 2008 I will improve my position by becoming the IPP and Dr. K.G. Hiremath will in all probability be elected to that post. He has been teaching in Dhempe college for 27 years and is the current Head of Botany Dept. I am not xenophobic, but i love Goa.I have no problem in people settling in Goa provided they don't destroy our culture and way of life. They have come to live in goa on their own will and it is up to them to assimilate in our way of life without throwing away their culture, and not the other way around. Comment: It is nice to know more persons of the previous generation who are not Xenophobic, specailly about "Indians". For your information,i was part of many of Goa's Movements, including the liberation of GOA.and i don't know what was your status then! Comment: You have no competition from me there. I was two years and 8 months old on 18 December, 1961, when Mapusa was "liberated" by the Indian Army. My father served time in jail for reading the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi. He went to jail with "The Imitation of Christ" by Thomas Kempis in his pocket ....the autobiography was confiscated as "incriminating evidence" in November,1955, he told me later. I was not even conceived then ;-) I SCRATCH HARD WHEN IT ITCHES AND SOMETIMES IT BLEEDS! Comment: Use of appropriate antiseptic or anti-allergin helps prevent such violent scratching ;-) WISH YOU A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
