I would like to thank everyone who gave in their responses (Raghu Trichur [EMAIL PROTECTED], Patrice Riemens [EMAIL PROTECTED], Anthony D'Andrea [EMAIL PROTECTED], Zelia Breda [EMAIL PROTECTED], and others) and share some of what came up: Some resources received via the G-R-N [http://groups.yahoo.com/group/goa-research-net] query, and not to forget that Dr Arun Saldanha of Minneasota talks on Friday at the XCHR: * "Raghu Trichur: Tourism and Nation-building: (Re)Locating Goa in Postcolonial India" in Metahistory: History questioning History, edited by Charles J. Book-chapter. http://home.uchicago.edu/~afdandre/ Anthony D'Andrea writes: In my book, while focusing on expatriate communities, I devote serious efforts to examine how Goans and Goa tourism interrelate with global leisure economies. I also compare and contrast Goa with Ibiza, in the context of globalization and post-colonial issues. In this connection, I critically discuss studies on tourism, race and post-coloniality in Goa. The book "Global Nomads" is currently available in hardback edition only (- I am negotiating a paperback, more affordable edition). Yet, a copy of the book can be found at Goa University library, or with professor Alito Siqueira. A multimedia version of my project can be found at my website: http://home.uchicago.edu/~afdandre/ * Below list is from Zelia Breda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Since I am doing research on tourism in Goa, I have collected a long list of essays on the subject.... I have also published a book chapter on the subject, where I tried to analyse the evolution of the tourism industry in Goa and its main impacts. I can also send it if you want.
