Over 200 real estate projects on display
  India property show opens

KUWAIT: An all-India property exhibition got off to a colorful start
yesterday at the Ramada Hotel, Kuwait showcasing more than 200 Indian real
estate projects under one roof. Dinesh Bhatia, Charge D’Affairs, Indian
Embassy, inaugurated the exhibition.
In addition to the presence of some of the biggest names in the Indian real
estate industry, major housing finance institutions are also participating in
the exhibition to provide on the spot loan facilities.
“It is great idea to organize such an Indian property exhibition in Kuwait
in view of the presence of a large Indian expatriate community in Kuwait,” said
Bhatia after touring various pavilions at the exhibition.
“Let our people know more about the booming real estate market in India. It
is not only an investment option. But, it could help many expatriates realize
their dream to build a home of their own,” Bhatia pointed out.
The event is being conducted by Indus Fairs & Events (India) Pvt Ltd in
association with Danat Al-Sultan, Kuwait.
The exhibition is an ideal platform for NRI investors who look for investment
opportunities in the Indian real estate sector. “Visitors get first hand
information on upcoming and current real estate projects and a wide range of
property options,” said one of the exhibitors at the venue.
On display are diverse properties and the best financing options from banks
so that customers can shop for their dream home with least effort and maximum
convenience.
With strong foreign exchange reserves, healthy GDP growth rates, rupee
appreciation, strong corporate performance and expanding FII investments, India
has emerged as an economic powerhouse. Most significantly, the $12 billion real
estate market in India has been on a high growth trajectory, on the back of a
booming economy, increased participation of global players in the Indian
market, new technological innovations, new norms and policies with respect to
maintenance of buildings, the general upgradation of infrastructure, entry of
many world-class players in the hospitality and entertainment sectors,
favorable demographics and liberalized FDI regime.
According to latest data, the real estate sector is the second largest
employer in India. The sector is projected to grow at an average rate of 20
percent per annum to $50 billion by 2010. And investment opportunity is
expected over $50 billion in the next five years.
“The Indian real estate industry has a lot of potential to offer. Various
foreign real estate and financial institutions companies have entered the
Indian market. Moreover, 100 percent FDI is allowed in real estate
development,” said another exhibitor pointing out that the Indian government
has played a major role in supporting the growth of the real estate sector by
allowing NRI investment in the sector.
“In India’s fast-growing economy, real estate has emerged as one of the most
appealing investment areas for domestic as well as foreign investors. The real
estate sector will continue to derive its growth from the booming IT sector,
since an estimated 70 per cent of the new construction is for the IT sector,” a
report released by PriceWaterhouse Coopers has said.
“The real estate market is on an upswing and for NRIs in this region. This is
the right time to invest in properties back home. The property show being held
offers the customers a wide choice with the best deals possible,” said an
exhibitor.
The property exhibitions organized previously by Indus group in Dubai had
done business worth 100 crores and generated sales enquiries of more than 300
crores. The event recently held in Muscat had done business transactions worth
more than 80 crores and generated sales enquiries more than 700 crores. If the
visitor turnout and growing enquiries are any indication, the exhibition in
Kuwait is expected to surpass all estimates.
The event is being sponsored by Vatika Group, NRI City by RD Enterprises and
Co Sponsored by Premier Properties.
