jc's response: I disagree with Gilbert Lawrence wrt his view as stated above.
I submit that we should condemn ONLY those anti-anybody writings which
are either false or do not stand to reason based on all the
circumstances of the case(s).
Nay, I would say ...applaud those who have the courage who criticise
on a justifiable basis. Would Gilbert criticise or applaud those who
wrote against the abusive priests from whichever religious faith?
What would Gilbert say about those who remained silent and helped
perpetuate the harm to those at risk AND those priests(the majority, I
submit) who were not involved?
It would be interesting to know what Sachin Phadte's follow up on this
BOGUSIFIED article which is being peddled by the anti-catholic lobby.
Did he set the record right with the 'Hindutvavadi' who allegedly sent
him that article?
If so - what was the response like?
There is one benefit of that Sachin Phadte posting. It has (hopefully)
taught us a good lesson about vicious propaganda and LIES that we have
amongst us, and How what we write can be subverted and reposted as
though it is our writing.
