Philip-bab has given a very touching account about the
inhabitants of colomb.Others like Tony and Vivian have
enthusiastically supported the action.
My contention is that such mobocracy should not be
tolerated. This belief that if laws are not serving
the people they can be broken with impunity is totally
unnaceptable...
in 1992 some hindus who believed the law was
inadequate to adress their grievance or was taking too
long to sort their problems gathered in large numbers
in ayodhya and pulled down the disputed structure..
in bhagalpur,bihar in the 80s undertrials were blinded
using battery acid because the law was ineffective in
prosecuting them..
extrajudicial killings euphemisticaly called
"encounters" are rife in india to control crime
because the due proces takes too long
i sincerely hope that such violent vigilantism doesnt
set foot in goa..educate the people to make a right
political choice starting from panch sarpanch and MLA
....things will improve much faster
