I agree with you marshall, but then everything comes with a price, for years no
one knew that there was a heaven like goa, only a few knew who came and
enjoyed, today the media has opened and if you look up on Tv you will see advt
for goa holiday almost on every channel.

I think its high time we think twice, because if you are goa you will realize
that the official language spoken has changed to hindi, our language and
culture is almost lost, if you are staying in panjim, or any city, you are as
good as staying in mumbai, so if you need your place to be like mumbai you have
to pay the price for it. The govt is making mumbai next Shanghai, it will be
with a price. So when goa becomes holiday capital then you will have pollution,
rape, price hike as complementary gifts.

Its for us to stand united and say no, is the CM ready to say it????

Report in Goanews:

"The exposure of Goa is because it has been made
the permanent venue for IFFI. This has resulted in
a lot of funds being invested in Goa, not only by
Indian industries but also foreigners," says Victor
Albuquerque, CMD, Alcon Victor Real Estate.

Comment:

If being the IFFI permanent venue is the cause for all this real estate
investment, setting up of SEZ's, and environmental degradation then I believe
we need to seriously look at this aspect. I do not know whether any study has
been done on the benefits and disadvantages of holding the IFFI. Goa does not
have a serious film culture. Tiatre's being its forte. If being the venue of
IFFI is the cause of the influx of moneybags descending into Goa, then it is
time for all lovers of Goa and its environment to take a stand and cut this
root cause of evil.
