A donkey is thought to be a rather stupid animal (not true by the way), but with its long ears flapping about, its not the prettiest four-legged thing on the planet, but in EuroAsian culture, this ungainly creature is a subject of fun. Keeping that thought, I think your son was saying he wants your attention and stop what you are doing, the Goanetters you are so ingrossed in can wait, LOOK AT ME. I need your time and your undivided attention PLEASE. Only a (stupid) donkey will take the time to chase or be concerned about its tail, the tail is already doing the job its meant to be doing (ensuring the contents underneath are protected, well covered by the tail & swishing the tail when flies are present, keeping the interested parties away from the more delicate areas), so listen to me, I need you.
