Dear Chinmay, Yes they are likely to be all ideological websites. But the one driven by Hindutva is a hate-filled site, as far as Gandhi is concerned. Hating anybody is infinitely worse than eulogizing a great man. More importantly, there are facts being reported by these websites. These facts can be independently verified from multiple sources, as you have now started to do. One can ask people who have intimate knowledge of the events being described by being present at that time, and being eye-witnesses to history. The article from one of the other site is from such a person, an 89 year-old veteran of the times, Chunibhai Vaidya. You claim that he cleverly leaves out unpleasant facts. You will have to provide evidence for this claim from other independent sources. One can also ask a historian who has acquired knowledge of the history of that time. The other article is from just such a person, Y. D. Phadke. Whatever criticism you have of him would have to be backed by evidence from other sources, as you are now trying to do, to arrive at a relatively objective assessment of who is telling the truth, and who is speculating, jumping to conclusions based on ideology, or deliberately distorting facts to mislead people for their own cause. I know that the other sites are likely to be sympathetic to the Gandhian ideology. That is why I told you to compare the information provided by all three sites, and try to separate the facts from the ideology. My suspicion was that you did not consult multiple independent sources before you posted your version of the 55 crores story in this forum. Am I right about this?
