To Goanet - Early morning today I was in the enchanting village of Cuncoliem in Ponda taluka. Later, I went for a drive through Keri and surrounds. In Curti, not too far from Goa Dairy at one end and the Sahakari Spice Farm by the highway at the other, I came upon a developing slum on a hillock. It seems to be right now in Phase-I, but but in due course we should have on our hands an Indiranagar twin.

Is Phase II about to start? http://www.parrikar.org/images/samples/curti-slum-2.jpg Another view of the soon-to-be Islamic Republic of Curti - http://www.parrikar.org/images/samples/curti-slum-3.jpg Is this what our pinkos mean by "integrating ghatis into Goa" ? It is a cinch for the ghati to acquire land in Goa - simply squat on communidade land and Digu, Ravi & gang will come running with electricity connections and voter cards. For the Goan villager, on the other hand, owning a piece of his own land remains a dream. Our NGOs are not bothered by all this apparently. Au contraire. The scumbags of the various "communal harmony" brigades will be delighted. This is lifelong employment for them.
