In search of God.
You can't reach God by smearing your forehaead with
holy ash,
if you're obsessed with rubies and mansions, parties
and cash.
You can't reach God if you perform sacrifices or fast,
if you think of yourself first and others last.
You can't reach God through pooja or grand ceremony,
if your dealings are riddled with bitterness and
acrimony.
You can't reach God by being a pure vegetarian,
if you're egocentric, narcissistic and not
humanitarian.
You can't reach God through hymns or holy song,
if you think you're always right and others always
wrong.
You can't reach God through holy pilgrimage ,
if your life is replete with impatience, and cruelty,
stubborness and rage.
You can't reach God in a temple or church,
if you desire and betray , leaving others in the
lurch.
You can reach God through poojas, hymns,pilgrimages
and chantings,
only if coupled with pure thoughts , pure deeds, pure
acts and pure feelings.
