<<Manohar Parrikar is the only politician who seems to have come out of
these sad events with any degree of credibility . I would say that even if I
detested him and the BJP with the same visceral hate that some on this forum
exhibit. I hope fellow goanetters ( particularly from the other side of the
divide ) agree.>>
RESPONSE:
#1) Visceral hate? Hardly the kind of opinions one would have of those that
have displayed an opposing political or ideological view on issues.
#2) Visceral hate? Does it also mean that those who have been criticizing
the fumbling CM also have a visceral hatred towards the man?
#3) Visceral hate? Is this the new mantra to silence alternate points of
view?? Do we have to bring up such adjectives to drive a deeper wedge
between differing perspectives?? Are Goans really running down alternate
sides of the same hill??
#4) Other side of the divide? Is this gulf so wide that it is one or the
other; everything or nothing? Do we have to be on some imaginary side of a
divide to detest and protest every politician at all levels of government?
Does anybody not believe that a Honest politician is an oxymoron??
#5) Manohar Parrikar <> credibility - Is this the same Manohar Parrikar who
folded his hands behind his back and looked the other way when some thugs
vandalized the Tonca pillar and several name plaques in Fontainhas/Mala in
2004? While he was the Home Minister??

The only reason we will see MP and credibility in the same sentence is
because we all know as a seasoned politician MP will milk the present
hungama........to the max!! He is afterall a politician first!!
Politicians with credibility?? Where does one find them?? In Goa?? Get
real!!!
And finally.......the above thoughts did not originate in my viscera or some
other thoracic cavities!!
