No connection with incidents in Panaji, Taleigao: Narvekar NT Staff Reporter Panaji, Feb 22 The Finance Minister, Mr Dayanand Narvekar, has said that he was not remotely connected with the incidents in Panaji or Taleigao nor had anyone approached him to ask for his opinion. Reacting to the statements issued by some politicians and organisations, which the Finance Minister has, in a press statement released here, said that were aimed at implicating him in the criminal activities that were taking place in Panaji and Taleigao. He has further stated that it was a well-understood defence to find an alibi by criminals while defending their criminal activities and many a time they succeed. "As far as I am concerned, I cannot be alibi as in my political career of 35 years, I have neither employed goons nor resorted to goondagiri to show my power or my authority," he has stated. Mr Narvekar has also said that he has also not taken any morcha to any police station, nor pressurised police to arrest or release some persons. "I advise my friends and foes not to drag me in such controversies," he has stated adding that they should introspect and try to control their behaviour and should own responsibilities for their crimes instead of pointing fingers at others.
