While the Government is yet to appoint an officer to initiate the enquiry
against the delinquent suspended "talathi" Mr Cuncolkar; there is no action
being taken against the Civil - cum Sub Registrar Salcete, for dereliction of
duties; apparently for his names' sake a "Pissurlenkar" Chandrakant.

After this writer confirmed with an official of the Cuncolim Municipality that
there was indeed an application received in the office of the Muncipality on
6th February 2008 and was inwarded; this writer had warned the official that
there would be an attempt to snatch away the application in which case the
Municipal officials would have to face the brunt of destroying evidence.

Right enough the Municipal officials now claim that no such application was
received; though evidence points to the contrary according to discreet enquires
made by this writer; infact it is learnt that the applicant failed to turn up
with the attachments required viz; ration card or EPIC etc and hence the same
was not considered for verification and issuance of the domicile certificat.

In the meanwhile according to reports from the Small Causes court at Bandra
Mumbai, Mohammed Mehraj claiming to be the husband of Ms. Dilnashin Amir Ahmed
Shaikh alias Manyata appeared before the Court from his Arthur Road Jail abode
in Case No: 1033/PW/07 and Custody case No:1178 /PW /07 and pleaded before the
judge that his four year son, presently in Dubai may be taken away to USA to
infructuate his plea that his marriage with "Manyata" still exists and no
divorce proceedings have been file till date. Since the judge in his case was
absent he was taken before another judge where he made the above plea.

As regards documentary evidence he claimed to have submitted to the Court in
Hyderabad and pleaded to be brought for examination at the next hearing now
fixed for 3rd March, 2008.

Meanwhile the Collectorate in South Goa is awaiting for the arrival of Manyatta
to appear before the Mamlatdar of Salcette, as her legal counsel had pleaded
for time upto 7th March, 2008 owing to short notice.

Interestingly many Goans complain that while the residence certificates take
several visits to be obtained it is shocking how non goans get the same in a
jiffy. Is this what the CM means when he thinks of the "aam aadmi" -- read non
Goan and to hoots with the Goans?
