Bab Mervyn Lobo said : I have a question for Parrikar. Can you
ask him, "What does he regard as his biggest mistake
while in office and what would he do differently to correct the
situation in the future?" You can give him this question way in
advance so that he can
reflect upon before he replies.
My comments :
1 ) Thanks , Mervyn. That is a very perceptive question (and one
that will hopefully give Manohar Parrikar much food for thought )
2 ) I feel that not just this but all questions have to be
submitted in advance so that he has reasonable time to think
through and formulate a response. After all , we do want a
meaningful session with him and not off-the-cuff chatter.
3 ) Regarding the point raised by Mr Frederick Noronha on the
question of costing , I can inform the forum that this has
cost me the price of 2 five minute phone calls from UK to
Goa ( one to Manohar Parrikar and one to a friend possessing
a video camera ). We can add the cost of about a gallon of
fuel required to get the two together and a couple of CD's.
I am sure Mr Noronha can organise the same priviledges
for any other politician who he feels ( like I do with Mr Parrikar )
can possibly lead Goa out of the current mess.
There are a few questions I would love to ask , for instance,
the selfless , valiant , forthright and amazingly far-sighted
Digamber Kamat.
