Dear Dr.Anesimo, Good questions. I am sure, you must have also heard some good answers to these questions. Can you enlighten us on the same?
After the NCERT survey of education, one is bound to queation how "large" and what "cross section" one refers to when one writes "large cross-section of goans". The abdomenal cross section of couch potatoes and armchair critics is ab-normally large :-) When one revoked the RP 2011, its constituents [new settlements, SEZ, expansion mining, etc] got revoked with it. Was there a need to specify each? Was it a lapse of the GBA? Was GBA about politics or about land? [I do not know if you are aware that BJP supporters, Congress supporters and even the UGDP General Secretary shared one platform under the GBA banner in December 2006 ...alongside some of us who have no political affiliations.] Was anyone else agitating against the RP 2011? As far as I know, everyone was together against RP 2011. It is only those who wanted to make political capital who split PMAS into PMAC and PMAS to form GMAS before the Lok Sabha elections. Correct me if I am wrong. At the Verna rally of YFG [baby GMAS], Dr.Oscar and one Miguel Braganza of GBA were criticised by Malisa Simoes of YFG and Siddanath Buyao of GMAS. As far as I know, neither Oscar nor Miguel was setting up or supporting a SEZ, then or now! Why was Raheja, Alex Sequeira or other pro-SEZ persons criticised? Why did it take SVM to physically enter and stop the machinery and labour working in the proposed SEZ at Keri and at Verna, in the backyard of GMAS so to say. Did GMAS volunteers even stop ONE SEZ? Why not? Is there a political agenda ...my SEZ better than your SEZ? Why are the BJP affiliated panchas of Keri now openly supporting the Meditabs factory AGAIN ...because there are no elcetions close by? Apply for the Gram Sabha minutes under RTI and you will discover who weeps for Nilesh Naik, martyr against industrialisation of the Bhuthkhamb plateau of Keri. Which side of the SEZ fence is the BJP? Can it not bring its cadres to heel? The GBA members are no holy cows. There will be black sheep in bovine clothing. Check their footprints [or hoof prints] and you will be able to sort out the udder nonsense. The people you spoke to are smart enough NOT to put their words down in writing .... or on the Goanet ..... lest they be proved wrong. ;-) Mog asundi. Miguel Date: Tue, 04 Mar 2008 13:44:11 -0500 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Goanet] Blame it on SVM and GBA Dear goanet readers, During my interaction with a large cross-section of goans during my recent visit to Goa,the following points were raised time and again. 1.?How come GBA missed the Monster of SEZ during the RP11 Regional plan agitation. Was it deliberate???? If this issue was highlighted, what would have been the outcome of election results? A complete disaster for Congress?? Were some people in the movement bought out? 2. Why did not GBA take the lead in organizing a mass protest rally by getting all the groups together as they did during RP11?? Why split the movement in saying they are APOLITICAL as it was not a political alliance? 3. Almost everybody I talked to was convinced that it was a Congress ploy to weaken the movement. It was very obvious.? The behaviors of some of prominent GBA members prior and post elections have cast a shadow over their real intentions and political affiliations!
