A tendency has come up in Anjuna where a lot of our youth who hardly finish their school join in tourism-related businesses such as running shacks, renting houses and as vehicle drivers. The education level in Anjuna is declining and it is a matter of concern compounded by the fact that very few from among the present generation are interested in pursuing higher education. -- Savio Almeida, former sarpanch of Anjuna.
