SEZ GETS CABINET APPROVAL: The Cabinet approved the setting up of a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in a 1,500 hectare area in Keri, Arambol and Morjim, with a potential of creating an employment to the tune of 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said the SEZ would be set up on the western side of the National Highway and interconnectivity between the new civilian airport at Mopa on the eastern side would be ensured through a corridor. The SEZ with a focus on IT, Tourism and manufacturing industries will become operational in about two years. Parrikar assured that the SEZ will exclude forest and habitable areas. Comment: Well, this news item, if true and reliable, puts paid to all pretensions of MP. I do not know where his supporters on this forum are going to hide. Imagine the architect of the SEZ pretending to be the defender against SEZ. Propose while in power and oppose while in opposition seems to be his motto.And we have people rooting for him as if he is the last saviour of Goa on earth.He comes across as a man with no principles or scruples. Stabbing Dr Willy and Francisco Sardinha to come to power, enticing defections, forging Filipe Neri's signature, scheming with Churchill and Babush.sanctioning SEZ's and they hiding behind Mathany while opposing.
