The Forest officials of Curdi Range Forest, Sanguem have detained two mining
trucks for illegally trespassing into reserve forest at Gulkond Donger at
Colomba.
Sources informed herald that the truck bearing Registration No.GA-02-T-8304
and GA-09-U-1999 inorder to go to a mine functioning in Gulkond Dongor
trespassed into the reserve forest which was attached by the forest officials
lead by RFO Fadte attached to Curdi Range.
Village sources informed herald that the mine which is operating in Gulkond
Donger there is no way for the company to transport the ore and the only way is
through the reserve forest. That the Forest department has raised a barbed wire
fencing which the mining company tried to remove on many occasion inorder to
enable them to start transportation of ore, which attempt have repeated by the
company after the filing of the writ petition in the high court by the
villager. However every attempt of the company has been foiled by the vigilant
Forest officials and the locals.
