Hi All,

Many thanks to all of you who have mailed me your appreciation for Caje's
Bhaji.
More gratitude to those who have been offering constructive criticism.

Fresh from air and bus journeys to Colombo, Mumbai and Bangalore, I thought it
apt to share my Top 5 travel tips for unsuspecting human cargo.

These views are free from any vested interest.
And since I pay for my own travel I am sharing no holds barred.

Caje's Bhaji - Top 5 things to watch out for at Dabolim Airport

1. Lack of seating once you cross security check.
2. Kingfisher First Lounge is as crowded as a Kadamba bus (Vijay Mallaya has
promised me improvement)
3. Duty Free shopping for alcohol is cheaper in Goa than Colombo and Dubai
(Flamingo did not issue me a receipt despite my demanding)
4. No other airport allows you the thrill of walking across the tarmac to your
aircraft.
5. The steep slope out of the departure hall ensures trolley baggage goes
humpty-dumpty.

Caje's Bhaji - Top 5 things to do if you prefer bus travel.

1. With the exception of KSRTC, TPH, Neeta and Sharma no other bus leaves on
time.
2. Paulo is great if you are fond of foul odours, unhygienic meal & toilet
stopovers and late arrivals.
3. Kadamba makes you feel at home. And at home you don't complain.
4. Advance booking costs 25% more than on-the-spot buying.
5. Blankets in Volvo's make you puke, carry your own warm jacket.

Caje's Bhaji - Top 5 derailments

1. Most economical, if you discount the cab fare to the station that costs
twice the rail fare to Mumbai/Bangalore.
2. Vasco station is well maintained and a treat to travel out from. Margao
stinks.
3. Coolies in Goa charge one-tenth of what Mumbai coolies fleece you with.
4. Meals on Konkan Railway have deteriorated, carry your own food pack.
5. Carry your own chain and lock to secure your baggage.

Caje's Bhaji - Top 5 travel tips within Goa.

1. Hire motorcycle pilots. They are unique, honest, safe and economical. (avoid
treating them to a drink midway)
2. Use Kadamba point-to-point services. (Full value for money)
3. Avoid rickshaws and cabs for short distances. Walk or hop into a local bus.
4. Never hire a tourist cab inside the airport arrival terminus. Come outside
the arrival hall and book a pre-paid taxi.
5. Every private bus passenger in Goa goes ticketless. (Private buses take more
money, give no ticket!)

Caje's Bhaji - Smart ways to travel free.

1. On arrival, inquire about a hotel that has a complimentary coach service.
2. Buy a Kadamba Volvo ticket. Local Kadamba services are complimentary for the
day.
3. Join a political rally supporting a disgruntled minister sans portfolio.
4. Hop on to a ferry. It's one of the few last surviving charming modes of
transport.
5. Become a minister. You not only travel free within Goa, but to Delhi,
Cannes, London, USA and hell.

Bon Voyage!
