JCI Santa Inez has organised a Meet-the Press program with Eric Ozario on
Friday, 28 March 2008 at 11 am sharp at the Goa Union of Journalists Hall at
Shram Shakti Bhavan, Panaji Goa.

The President of Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Eric Ozario led his team in
creating history of 40 hours of marathon singing. The feat was achieved on
January 26-27 here by the Mandd Sobhann group that works for the promotion of
Konkani language and culture in Mangalore. Konkani Nirantari included 44 groups
(including two Goan troups led by Poornand Chari and Elvis Goes) comprising
more than 1,700 singers sang a total of 600 songs breaking the previous record
by Communidade Evanjelica Luterana of Sao Paolo, Brazil, which sang for 36
hours in 2004.

Keith Pullin from the Guinness Book of World Records London was the
adjudicator. At the end of the marathon, he certified that Maand Sobhann had
created a new record. There are 953 Guinness records involving India already.
This is the first record by Konkani people.
