What advocate Adv. Jos. Peter D'Souza, has stated seems to be the truth unfolding; the Goan people are being taken for a ride...
'Scarlett had drinking problem' By PAMELA D'MELLO Panaji, March 28: Scarlett Eden Keeling, the British schoolgirl found dead in Goa last month, had a serious drinking problem that her mother was aware of, her Indian boyfriend told a children's court here. Julio Lobo, the 25-year-old Goan whom Scarlett befriended in Goa, said Scarlett would drink and smoke in front of her mother Fiona MacKeown, and the two would get high together. He suspected Scarlett was also doing drugs, he said, though he never actually saw her. The British family were often broke. Ms MacKeown had borrowed money from several people, including himself, he said. Ms MacKeown had initially sought financial assistance from British consular authorities to fly Scarlett's coffin out of India. A private British airline later granted the entire family free passage. The Goa police have registered a case against Lobo under the Children's Act for having sexual relations with the minor girl, a charge Lobo challenges in his anticipatory bail application, a copy of which is with this newspaper. He is not an accused in the rape and murder case. Scarlett had told him she was 19 years, and confessed to having had relations with other friends, in the UK, he states. On Fiona MacKeown's invitation, Julio and Scarlett had driven to Gokarn, where her family had been based since January 2008 end. Fiona had booked the young couple into separate accomodation, indicating the mother's knowledge and consent to the relationship. The police have charged Lobo with sexual relations with a minor on the basis of entries in Scarlett's diary. http://www.asianage.com/presentation/leftnavigation/news/india/%E2%80%98scarlett-had-drinking-problem%E2%80%99.aspx COMMENT: The truth will out in the end, bring in the CBI, allow Fiona McKweown back into the country and throw the book at her. -- DEV BOREM KORUM.
