Shaping Margao's Development - An Interactive Session on April 12th, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Grace Church Hall, Margao.
Today, increasingly, we are discovering that development is a double edged sword. While there is no doubt that growth does bring with it certain conveniences, it also comes with a price. Overcrowding, parking and health problems, increase in crime, disposal of garbage, constant uncoordinated digging of roads that seriously hampers the free flow of human and vehicular traffic. This and more is what Margao residents are experiencing in recent times, although development should ideally improve the quality of life for people. Therefore, it is imperative that citizens along with the authorities and decision makers, work together in a co-operative environment to address immediate problems, as well as ensure that the framework of development is shaped thoughtfully, in a manner that will not compromise the collective quality of life of the people. This would demand that the infrastructure support and keep pace with the growth and development envisaged. GOENKARANCHEM DAIZ, an organisation that seeks to preserve and pass on our rich cultural traditions to future generations, has pleasure in inviting you to the next in the series of monthly interactive sessions organised by them on "Shaping Margao's Development" on April 12th, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Grace Church Hall, Margao. This session strives to bring citizens and the authorities responsible for various services to Margao on a common platform, in a fruitful and meaningful endeavour that we hope will result in constructive ideas that will succeed in mitigating the many problems faced by Margao residents and creating a systematic and sustained blueprint for the future.
