Very good question. First of all?,lets take the example of VCD?which is used to demonize him as the master communalist.Ask how many Catholics have seen it? The answer given is either in the negative or they heard or?read from somewhere or the priest said so.The?introductory part is the historical fact and has nothing to do with the goan Catholics.Why we are so mad about?it? It looks like we are trying to defend the atrocities of Portuguese.?Are We? The answer in NO.?It reminds me of Satanic Verses which created worldwide furor among muslims, yet hardly anyone of those protesting had read it! Same thing?with the Sanvordem Communal riots.You will not read any clarification by Manohar Parrikar. All we will read is the reports which are presented by bodies which have?no credibility or hidden?personal agenda. ? It is same with the IFFI thing.The whole thing was done on an emergency basis to cater for world class event.Good things cost money. It does not come cheap. In India and for that matter throughout the world, If anything operates without any corruption,then we must be living in Paradise.It is the degree of corruption that is important.In spite of that,we can see the beautiful old GMC building with pleasant surroundings and with world class?theatres. I spent ten odd years there.The whole area was an eyesore.we can see the difference which others might not?see or pretend not to see! In one of my earlier posts I said that this interview is important for all Goans and specially the Catholics.We have been fed with completely distorted image about Manohar Parrikar. In fact, I have never seen one man being so much viliified.The press which is controlled by the Mining and Building lobby,which in?turn controls the Government, has been the main culprit.One should?read the pre-election news items on him. He was portrayed as the SATAN who would destroy?the very fabric of goan society.Some key and influential people, which included Catholics and the church were part of this campaign. For what? To bring back the Corrupt,Anti- Goan Government which? was selling and destroying Goa?It is the same people who were pretending to SAVE GOA! ?I have heard him live now.I can think, analyse and come to my own conclusion,and so can all the catholics.They can differentiate between the genuine and the fake!???
