Bal Thackeray once took objection to some Muslims calling themselves Muslim Indians. He was of the opinion that India should come first and then Muslim i.e. Indian Muslim.
One wise guy stated that when two nouns are together, the first noun has the funtion of an adjective, hence the second noun was more important. After all an adjective merely qualifies a noun. Can any Goanetter throw more light on the subject. Catholic Brahmin would imply that one is more proud of his brahminhood and he incidentally happens to be a catholic. Am I right ? Antonio PS. In India, there are no Buddhists, Jains , Sikhs or for that matter, Muslims who claim brahmin citizenship. Only in divinely beautiful Goa, there are Catholic Brahmins.
