Tel: 2254438 / 2253290 Date: 8/4/08 Press note: Having single-handedly sounded Goans of the South through awareness meetings and signature campaign against the ill effects of selling Goa to outsiders for profit making reasons and after tracking Asolna, Chinchinim, Velim, Margao, Benaulim and Carmona with his potent and impassioned message to Goans, Mr Anthony D'Silva of Asolna is making his presence felt in the far away nerve centre of Bardez in North Goa 'The City of MAPUSA, on Friday 11th. April, 2008 from 8.30 a.m. onwards. 'Friday' because it is the world acclaimed Friday Mapusa Market Day. Mr. Anthony D' Silva will station himself at the Mapusa Municipal Market's main gate to spread the awareness with his unique display of photographs to explain to fellow Goans why they should not sell their land, their ancestral properties, to outsiders and what effects this will have on Goa's posterity in years to come, especially since GOA is the smallest state in the Indian Union. Mr. D'Silva is the 2007 State Nominee for the National Award for Human Rights. Besides being Human Rights Activist, Mr. D"Silva is a Social worker and a Social Activist. He heads a NGO 'THE BRAIN BOX INSTITUTE' operating from Asolna. Needless to say that the 'Mapusa Active Citizen's Union' (MACU) calls upon entire Bardez and Bardezcars to take note of this unique event and urges them to show their solidarity with him for Mother Goa by filling-up the signature roll with their signatures, simultaneously to stand-up to 'Save Goa' and be 'COUNTED' Sd/- (Dr. Bonny Pereira) Chairman
