I cant quite understand what is the fuss of Parrikar equating the RSS to the
church. The ban that Bernando is referring to, took place during the emergency
imposed by Indira Gandhi and it is a fact that the emergency was the darkest
period in the history of  independent India and an utter disgrace. Though
I have no love for the RSS or the church for that matter, no one can deny the
immense social work done by the RSS, during times of calamities and otherwise.
And yes, if at all there is a reason not to equate the church and the RSS, the
latter has never conducted crusades or inquisitions and burnt people alive. So
it is unfair to compare the RSS and the church. In the same vein, I would like
to say that without a doubt there are rabid elements in the RSS too, so at the
end of the day, they are two sides of the same coin, except that one has far
more blood on its hands than the other. Regards,From: Bernado Colaco <[EMAIL

text/plain; charset=utf-8In a recent interview conducted by Rajan Parrikar, the
interviewee in this case Manohar continues to wind up Catholic Goans by
equating the Catholic Church with his RSS organisation. This organisation in
question was banned in the late 70's and is very famous for its intolerance of
other religious communities.
