Dear Mr Faleiro,

Wth all due respect to you as the Commissioner for Goan NRI affairs, we would like to hear from you, as to why the Goa direct flight from Sharjah has been cancelled. Noone seems to have the right answer and we believe you are the right person to answer this questionof ours.

Goans living in he UAE depened on this flight not just for themselves and for their families, but also to get our aged parents here on a visit, thus avoiding the hassle of changing aircrafts and airports.

You will agree with us that asking our parents who in most cases are above the age of 60 -70 years, to sit and wait at Bombay airport, waiting for their connecting flight, they have to bear up with so many difficulties.

My father on one of his trips back from UAE recalls that at Bomaby airport, he had to sleep on the Bare Cold Floor at the domestic airport, waiting to board his connecting flighjt to Goa . A person nearby saw that he was so uncomfortable and the Air Conditioning was high, and offered him a shawl for comfort. There was no one to assist in these wee hours of th morning after arriving there. People of that age need minimum trouble while travelling and maximum customer service - after all they all our aged parents.

Back to the many families from here who travel with little children, what should be their situation?

Handling little children plus baggage and going throug the rest of airport and customs rules and regulations is not easy and all we wait for is to touch our Good Goan Soil and to see our near and dear ones.

Why then is this flight cancelled ??

Please give us a reply and we would appreciate that reply coming from you and not from your secretary.

On your recent trip to Abu Dhabi, you had mny things to say to all the Goans here, I understand.

Why are we then a forgotten lot and the other states of India get preferance over Goans ?

You have the necessary contacts in Delhi and you are the commissioner for Goan NRI affairs, you are OUR representative in India, why then do you not speak and fight for us. Are we not your fellow Goan Brothers and Sisters?

Be our Leader in the true sense and win this fight for us, show the Goans how much you love and care for them and see how much you will be appreciated and blessed in life for the good that you do.

With Much Warm Regards from a Fellow Goan .

Dev Borem Korum.

Zelma De Souza
Abu Dhabi

PS: I have written in the past on this issue of having a direct flight to Goa from Abu Dhabi, hopefully I will not receive your secretary's reply again....
