Dear Mr. De Silva,

Thank You for your response. We hope the needful will be done at the earliest.

Today's Gulf News announces the commencement of Jet Airways daily flight to Mumbai effective 24 April 2008, departure from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman - which is four emirates of the UAE.

The flight from Abu Dhabi arrives Mumbai at 04:50 am which may be a good time to catch the 06:30 am first flight of Jet Airways into Goa.

But we have yet to know the airfares. Indian Airlines was a reasonable fare and a fare that the average man here could afford, as not all companies here provide an airfare for their employees.

And even if they do.........in many cases it is once in two years.

So we are hoping this IC flight is restored back to operations soon and keeping our fingers crossed.

Dev borem Korum !

Dear Ms Zelma DeSouza,

Please refer to your email of 13 Apr 2008.

The Hon Commissioner for NRI Affairs is fully aware of the hardships to passengers including difficulties to senior citizens and babes in arms. He has taken up the matter at the highest level. The Air India (now NACIL) management are looking into this issue. It is understood that the flights were cancelled due to shortage of aircraft.

On behalf of the Hon Commissioner I am addressing all the issues regarding direct flights to Goa and am looking into these issues.

With regards,
Yours sincerely,
John C DeSilva
