Hi Gabe The trouble with starting a sentence with "and", "because", "if" etc is that the sentence tends to be incomplete without a verb. Grammarians and teachers of English emphasise this point, but of course, many writers of novels especially, ignore this a lot but it is not often found in quality papers. Cornel
