Kingfisher likely to start international operations by August this year
Kingfisher will initially start its operations to destinations like San
Francisco, London, New York from Bangalore Airport.
By March 2009, there would be about 20 International destinations including 3
in Europe, 6 in gulf, 4 in Far East and 7 in SAARC countries.
Bombay-London flight also likely to start from this August.
Kingfisher Airlines has sought the government’s permission to fly to the US,
the UK, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, South Africa, China, Australia, Thailand,
Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and some key destinations in West Asia.
What more? Come 2011 (or even before) Kingfisher would be the first Indian
carrier to operate its super Jumbo A380 double decker
on Mumbai-Delhi-UK sector etc.
It may be reminded that Kingfisher ordered 5 A380s in the year 2005 and later
on (Jan.2008) the order was to increase by another 5.

Vijay Mallya, Chairman and CEO of Kingfisher Airlines has requested Airbus to
advance the deliveries of 5 A380 to year 2009 end and if that happens, then
A380s would start in India as early as 2010.
Any Indian Airlines to go international, it has to be in domestic operations
for at least 5 years but KingFisher completes 5 years in 2010. So, how come it
can start international operations from Aug.2008?

So, how big is the A380?
It is the biggest so far.
It can take upto 850 people.
In other words, 20 (42-seater) bus load of Passengers
