Go Goa: West coast wonderland is about water sports
Lilly Saddi - TNN

Goa is much more than beaches and sea. I realised this when I visited the
scenic city. Enthralling Goan dances, life full of adventure, water sports and
tourists who throng the city from all over the world definitely makes Goa a
fun-filled destination.

Since we had planned a stopover at Mumbai before landing in Goa, we took a
flight from Delhi to Mumbai. After spending an entire day in the city of
dreams, we boarded a bus to Goa. Though my experience was not like the one in
Bombay To Goa, the 12 hours spent in the bus were very pleasant. As we
approached Panjim, Goa's capital, the breathtaking view of beautiful Mandovi
River was an elixir enough to take away the fatigue of our long journey.

I had heard a lot about the combination of the sosegãdo or laid-back lifestyle
and carnival-like Goan nightlife. But after visiting the city, I myself got
lured by the psychedelic trance of the city. Right after spending some time in
Hotel Belle Vista Wado, Saligao, we went out to hit one of the oldest Panaji
beach - Calangute Beach. The first of the hippie resorts back in the 60s and
70s, the beach is thriving on the business. Even though it is a busy place, the
long beach does not disappoint in providing privacy to couples.
