2008/4/27 Chris Vaz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Clinton's point is well taken--but it takes strong words and action to shake the "suseigado" Goans from their lethargy. I say, go Rajan, go! The clock on irresponsible development is running out!
Earlier Clinton Vaz wrote to Rajan Parrikar Yesterday, I was driving by Donna Paula with some friends discussing reasons why they had to unsubscribe from Goanet, and one of the reasons were your mails dripping with hate and venom. A lot of us on Goanet have learnt to ignore the bulk of your mails, and take in the most informative ones from you.. Earlier still, there was a point made about Communalism in Goa == jc's response 1. I fully agree with the sentiment expressed by Chris Vaz 2. I am disappointed by the position (quoted above) of Clinton Vaz 3. I say to those who 'had to unsubscribe from Goanet' because of Rajan's views: Please tell us your views. 4. I disagree with Rajan on many matters - but I admire his zeal and courage in exposing the 'Destruction of Goa'. He has done (singlehandedly) voluntarily what may Goan NGOs and many Goa journos have failed to do. If any have tried, it was either to dilute or too late. In any event, they were ineffective. In my book ...Rajan is one of those Goan patriots. 5. I also see Clinton's post - albeit inadvertently - as an effort to censor Rajan Parrikar. Please note my absolute opposition to that attempt. I also suggest that if there were any Goans who really had reasons to grumble to Clinton, they should have had the decency to say so publicly and not through a surrogate. 6. I personally see Rajan and most enlightened Goans fighting a losing battle. It is too late guys...too late. There are many reasons for that. the reasons consist interalia of 1961, Bandodkar, the MGP, the Congress, the BJP, the alleged Goa Journos and language. More on this in early September 08. BTW: When will Goans learn that the spot at the tip of Caranzalem is Dona Paula and not Donna Paula, and that Goans tend to be "sossegado' and not sushegadh or "suseigado"? BTW 2: Goa neither needs Communalism nor Marxist or any other form of Communism. till next week end jc
