What you have seen is a poorly recorded video clip of Lorna, singing...aikat
mozo tavo..at some
church function with some unknown music director.
I would request you to comment once you hear the orginal song sung by
Lorna...which was
composed by Gabru Gomes and music set by Ronnie Monserate....that song was
one of the best songs..
which even Chris Perry couldnt dream of! ( if u hv not heard it i can send
the best quality of this song)
"Aikat Mozo Tavo" was a comeback song from Lorna which she sang live in
Panjim and the crowd there
was thrilled to her her voice again....imagine this afer a gap of so many
years...that song was specially composed
for the occassion and she sang it with the right spirit....but I doubt now
even if she is forced to sing that song...she can
sing it well...cause Chris Perry is no more!
Yes indeed the magic died with Chris...but Chris also did not continue on
his magic with others...he did try a couple of albums
but he was not successful. But Lorna still continues on to sing.
I agree with Eugene that she should not have sung for the all the
producers...but they were Goan and they tried their best
including our own goanetter Silviano....she sang well for his album
specially the two songs...Sweety fantasy..and Silver Jubliee
Most of the single songs that she gave for the other producers were
good...exception of one album but then it depends on
choice of people. I recently heard from 2 of Lornas fans that they like her
new Jazzy Goa-Canada Album...a differnt version
of the old Chris Perry Album.
I dont know if you heard her latest album ..tujea pasot by Neves
Olivera...Lorna did sing very well and she still continues to do so.
Ofcourse oldage is picking up..in Jan 08 I heard she was not well n had to
be hospitalised.
I dont think she should stop singing, but I think she should sing looking at
the words...cause she feels bit nervous n changes the words.
For Lorna fans, I have compiled lyrics (words) of 30 of her best songs in
word file and can share them on request.
And Yes LORNA deserves a life time award for keeping Konkani Alive today
thru her songs!
