Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje inaugurating The Times of India's new Jaipur
office
With a circulation of 3.5 million, The Times of India is today the worlds
largest English newspaper across formats, sizes and genres. And it is steadily
growing. Last month we made deep inroads in the south when the paper was
launched in Chennai.
Today, The Times of India takes another huge step in enlarging its national
footprint by taking to Jaipur an edition that is printed there and reflects the
concerns of its residents.
The Pink City is at present truly in the pink of economic health. Its the new
housing hot spot, with construction giants making a beeline for it.
The BPO and IT industries are becoming increasingly aware of the multiple
opportunities it offers. Meanwhile, sectors for which its long been renowned
like tourism and handicrafts are going from strength to strength. A new,
assertive Jaipur is emerging proud of its past, confident about its future,
ready to take on the world and live up to its name the city of victory.
On Sunday, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje formally inaugurated TOI s new Jaipur
office, festooned with pink balloons and posters depicting Rajasthans
heritage. In a freewheeling conversation with editors and reporters, Raje said,
At a time when Jaipur is changing at a never-before pace, the entry of a
newspaper which is known across the country and is of the highest calibre is
welcome. She added, TOI spreads hope among its readers.
After Jaipur, TOI lands in sunny Goa on May 7. Through all the expansion, TOI
has constantly been at the cutting edge of change, yet fiercely proud of its
170-year heritage.
Although TOI has transformed itself in line with the changing needs of its
readers, its core values remain constant. Our cornerstone: to serve our readers.
