Hi All, The Times monolith seems to have faltered in Moira. There was no delivery on day one (07.05.2008) even though I received an sms early in the morning profusely thanking me for having the wisdom to subscribe to their newspaper. The helpline number (3045076) given by them in the sms was either deliberately off hook or wasn't functioning.
Today on day 2 (08.05.2008), my newsvendor tells me: 1. The paper arrived late; 2. They are in the process of sorting the list of subscribers and delivery will be made tomorrow and 3. If I wnat it today, I can come to his place and collect it. (Didn't the ancients say in Konkanni: <<Moidea pavon, kunsvar kabar zalo?>>) Incidentally, when I did get to someone in the editorial department, he religiously took down my name and promised that someone from circulation would contact me - but no results. My email complaint (made on 7th) to [EMAIL PROTECTED] has not even been attended to. Today when I complained by phone, I was given a complaint number and told that the problem would be sorted out. If this sets the flavour for the TOI operations in Goa, the local papers have nothing much to fear -- Tony de Sa Ph: +91 832 2470148 E: [EMAIL PROTECTED] M: +91 9975 162 897 ----------------------------------------------------------- It may be that all games are silly, But then so are humans - Robert Lynd ------------------------------------------------------------
