Open Letter to Mr. Eduardo Faleiro I am the daily reader of Gulf Times & almost everyday I read your 'Letter to the Editors' column. All this days, I can read only one thing & that is regarding the award given to Mr. Simon D' Silva our own Goan residing in Doha Qatar. Mr.Simon runs the welfare association with just 6 members and the membership is NOT open to the entire strong Goan comunity, its is a welfare association but nothing being done for the welfare of GOAN brethern here, all the income and profits are deposited in his personal A/C's.The club is affiliated to the Indian Embassy,so the concern Authority should take note of it. Subsequent to the award, there was lot of suggestions by our Goans to the Commissioner of India & our own Commissioner of NRI, Mr. Eduardo Faleiro. Being an experienced person in the Indian politics & holding different portfolios at the centre, I cannot understand why Mr. Eduardo recommended Mr. D' Silva's name for the prestigious award without knowing the reality here in Doha Qatar. Is it because Mr. D' Silva was the organizer for the NRI convention held at Doha Qatar or Is it because the hospitality Mr. Eduardo received during the said convention? If Mr. D' Silva is so famous in Doha, than why he bringing ex. retired banker all the way from Goa to bring sponsors for the May Ball. This question's are needed to be answered by Mr. Eduardo.
There are lot of Goans here in Doha Qatar who work selflessly be it for the church & other social activities; Rendering helping hand to the needy, charity homes, schools back home. Lot of Goans suggesting that this award should have gone to one lady who is doing lot of social work not only for Goans but for non-goans people as well here in Doha Qatar. She is also helping the church in day to day work. Now this the big question I put for our NRI Commissioner to find out who is this lady & revoke the award bestowed on Mr. D' Silva & give the same to the person it deserve. From: A Dissapointed Goan
