Gone are the days when you were called upon to be a Minister. Today Ministerial
candidates demand, threaten and some even blackmail to get the position.

Having been out of power for so long, Taleigao MLA Mr. Babush Monseratte is
desperately craving and longing for that Ministerial berth. While dangling the
carrot, on one pretext or the other the Congress has kept him humoured waiting
for long and is obviously testing his patience. They now have given a very lame
excuse, assuring that it will happen after the Karnataka Assembly elections. By
then monsoons will have erupted and with Babush’s temper cooled he may be told
to wait till next year’s Lok Sabha general elections.

What is amusing is that Babush wants to be a Minister in the very government
which beat the hell of out of him and his wife Jennifer this Feb 19th without
out even sparing his minor son and the family furniture.

At what cost is Babush wanting to be a Minister? Apart from other things he
would not be able to continue the war against the IT Habitat at Dona Paula
where he had vowed to lay down his life.

Once in the cabinet Babush would be at the mercy of Dayanand Narvekar for all
financial sanctions and the Home Minister Ravi Naik wielding the lathi. It is
not even three months since Feb 19th. It takes much longer for such wounds to
heal. You have two options Babush, the choice is your’s Mr. Monseratte.

And Mr Chief Minister, kindly stop this balancing act of continued cabinet
cobbling and please get on with providing Goa’s Aam Aadmi some good governance.
You have wasted a whole year in office Mr Digambar Kamat.
