So finally, the poor men get blamed! What a sad conclusion to arrive at: a
conclusion that points fingers in just one direction, and that is so unfair.
I wonder if Jane ever thought of any other reasons that could have prompted
the men to frequent the brothels in the first place. It is not just the
duty of the Goan Government and the Catholic Clergy to educate all Goan
males about the so called dangers. I think we need to look a long way back,
and try to analyse exactly what is the root cause which drives men to these
places. And sadly, a lot of the problem starts with our women themselves.
We need to see mothers speak to their sons with love so that they learn
early that women have to be respected. And this talk is reinforced with
respectable behaviour by the fathers in the house. If a child sees his
father disrespecting his mother, that is certainly not going to help mould
his tender mind in the right way.
And then we need to go one step further. We know that most of the men who
frequent brothels are married men. So what drives them away from their
wives to these other women? I believe their wives too need to reflect and
contemplate on this subject, and do what it takes to make their men want
them above all other women around. I dont think there is need for further
elaboration in this area!

Dear Goankars,
"THE SEX trade in Baina, exists, because of the men who visit these places.
It is the duty of the Goan Govtmt and the Catholic clergy to educate all
Goan males in schools and colleges, on the dangers of visiting these places.
In fact letters should be sent by the police or panchayat, to the family
members of men, caught visiting these places to watch them and these men
for medical help to psychiatrists.
Regards,
