The sudden removal of Mr. Sanjiv Gadkar from the post of Commissioner of
City of Panaji is a great loss to the citizens of Panaji. Mr. Gadkar who is
known to be a no nonsense and very upright officer needs to be commended for
not playing to the whimsical tunes of Panaji's Mayor and his bunch of
Corporators who are virtually making hay while it lasts. The Mayor and his
gang want an officer who will succumb to their manipulative dictates and
facilitate illegalities.
The Mayor of Panaji Mr. Tony Rodrigues now fully recuperated from the
thrashing he got from the city cops on Feb 19th should seriously get on with
tackling the serious issues of garbage, stray dogs and parking instead of
throwing his weight around with good and honest officers.
