Sir,
Subject: Request for information under section 6 of the RTI Act, 2005.
With reference to the long discussion I have had with you in connection with
the government permitted hill cutting which is presently taking place at
Batim, in the Santo Estevao Constituency, kindly furnish the following
information as urgently as possible.
The copy of the concerned permission for hill cutting in question.
The name of the party/contractor this permission is issued to.
The extent of hill cutting permitted, i.e. amount of mud to be excavated
approximately in cubic meters.
Duration for which this permission is valid inclusive of both dates.
For what purpose this mud is used and by whom.
The cost of the mud, if sold, per cubic meter.
Under what other conditions is this permission given i.e. restoration of the
damaged site in question etc. Please furnish the copy of these conditions if
not specified on the body of the permission issued.
On what basis is this permission granted by your office and if it is
granted on your own independent.
If this permission is not granted on your own volition, then kindly furnish
details of on whose instructions this permission is granted, on what
grounds, with copies of all relevant noting on your file.
If your office was present during the deliberations, if any, prior to the
issuance of the hill cutting permission. Kindly furnish names and
designations of other representatives who were present for this
deliberations/meeting.
If your office or any other office/institution/agency/s, individuals,
representatives or others present for these deliberations had voiced their
objections in view of the damage that will be caused to the ecology of this
area, or suggestions of alternate arrangements to this cutting of the
serene, green and healthy hill. If so, please furnish their names and
designations and transcription of their objections and suggestions if
recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
Kindly furnish the copy of the minutes of the proceedings of this meeting,
if in, your possession.
Please note that this information may or may not be used to file an
appropriate Public Interest Litigation in the Hon. High Court of Bombay at
Goa against your departments and others.
A Court fee stamp of Rs. 10/- (Rupees Ten Only) is attached herewith to this
application as required.
