Help others be BETTER INFORMED ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- Navelim Forum to take up Mega Housing Projects at Sunday meeting -------------------------------------------------------------------- In view of a number of complaints being received by Navelim Civic and Consumer Forum (NCCF) regarding new projects coming up under Navelim, Telaulim and Aquem-Baixo Village Panchayats as well as some parts of Margao Municipality falling in Navelim, it is decided to take up these issues at the next monthly meeting to be held on Sunday 25th May, at 4.00pm in Rosary Higher Secondary School Bldg.
NCCF will discuss the impacts of these Mega Housing Projects in our villages and the infringement of civic & consumer rights of the villagers, whether these projects are of any benefits to villagers or whether they will put further strain on the existing infrastructure. Already there are complaints of builders/institutions leaving their sewerage into open gutters and thereby polluting the water bodies, restricted water supply, frequent power cuts, power and water theft by builders, ect. Also among the other issues to be discussed are the recently held BSNL Open House, the service related problems of PWD water supply, Electricity, Bus Transport, Cable TV, LPG cylinder supply and preparation of Identity cards for Senior Citizens. In these times of haphazard and unplanned development going on in Goa at a hectic pace with complete disregard to environment and local sentiments, Goans have to be very vigilant and proactive, if we want to preserve Goa as it is.
