A tete-a-tete with Goan duo- Roshan and Peter Abu Dhabi May 23, 2008: They came, they saw and they conquered the hearts of the audience during the Mangalorean day event organized by KCO at the Al Arzanah Ballroom at the Sheraton hotel in Abudhabi. It was undoubtedly one of the most outstanding and memorable events in the UAE. This was the feedback we received from the section of audience during the event itself. There was this performer, young and dynamic who stole the show and made an impact on the minds of her listeners and carved a niche for herself to be written in the pages of Konkani music. She is none other than "Roshan" who came all the way from Goa, along with her husband Peter and their friend Aniceto to perform here in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
She rocked the audience in Abu Dhabi UAE and Team Mangalorean was motivated to meet her and collect her profile for her fans to read and know more about her. Roshan and her husband Peter being proactive, found some time to speak to Team Mangalorean and share some choicest thoughts. Roshan was born on 13th March 1970 in Karmona Goa. She is the proud daughter of Shree Krishna Ajgaonkar and Nalini Ajgaonkar. Her family which hails originally from Karmona is still living there, but Roshan has now moved to Benaulim in Goa after her marriage in the year 1998. Roshan's early education was at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Karmona and then she joined the school of nursing at Kudchadkar Nursing Home in Goa. During her school days, her parents motivated her and supported her in extra curricular activities. I used to take part in dancing, acting and singing right from my childhood days says Roshan. I have won several prizes while participating in school competitions and this gave me a lot of encouragement to do more and climb the ladder of music world, she adds. She owes her credit to her parents, teachers, and friends who encouraged her to rise and shine. In the year 1984 she joined Omkar Ochestra who provided her with a platform to dance and sing and the skills she possessed were put to test. This gave her the confidence to perform better and become what she is today, she said with a smile on her face. http://mangalorean.com/news.php?newstype=broadcast&broadcastid=78989 -- Frederick FN Noronha * Independent Journalist http://fn.goa-india.org * Phone +91-832-2409490 Cell +91-9970157402 (sometimes out of range) http://www.youtube.com/user/fredericknoronha
