To Goanet - The coordinated campaign to mislead and misinform has begun in earnest. Yesterday in the TOI, we heard the Goan industry butler Nitin Kuncolienkar say that since the 700 flats in Carmona will be bought out by NRIs/outsiders, the load on resources of the village will be minimal given that these are going to be part-time residents. Datta Damodar Naik and his builder cohorts should start out by asnwering the following: a) Why are you so keen on bringing NRIs and other outsiders to Goan villages in the first place, even as part-time landlords? b) Do you think Goan villages are meant to be turned into playgrounds for the filthy rich outsiders? Who gave you the mandate to decide on this paradigm shift? c) Have you thought about what your projects will do to the character, lifestyle, demographics and the peace of the village? d) What about the orchards and forests that have been taken down for all these mega projects? Of course, none of this matters to the real estate gigolos. Once they have made their crores, it is Hasta la vista, baby! Warm regards, r
