Even though this is highly illegal, fact is that quite a few of the non-English newspapers in Goa carry "cotton figures" to boost their sales in current-day Goa. Unfortunately, humble matka gamblers aren't as influent as those casino types, who have had the anti-gambling laws subverted by a few changed strategic lines, to wholly change their intent and purpose as also the congestion along the Mandovi.
Having said that, Cecil is way off target. For the 30th, maybe 3 and 9 (or some combination of it) seem 'auspicious'. For the 31st try 0 and 7. Keep a small part of the winnings for a good charity as part repayment :-) Incidentally, we had this tutor in Maths, who was convinced that there was a 'way' in which one could beat this two-digit very-popular-among-the-commonman gambling system. His logic was that you need to 'latch on' to one two-digit number, and keep on backing it, come what may. Every week increase the stakes in geometrical progression. The longer it takes to win, the greater your chances of making your million. The moment you win, take your money and run! Of course, this is only in theory. Because after some time, financially impossible to keep hiking the stakes. FN PS: Talking about cotton figures, anyone remembers why they were called thus? Hint: old issues of the Navhind Times carried details of the latest stock market prices for cotton on the NY exchanges. And, unlike easy-to-manipulate matka results, even a biggie like Ratan Katri could not change the cotton prices as declared.
