To Goanet - Pernem and Canacona are the two talukas now ripe for exploitation by the land sharks and the builder's mafia.
It would be highly desirable to have information about the land conversions in these areas. I am providing the proforma for these applications. You need to do the following: a) Print out TWO copies. b) Fill in the blank fields (your name, date, address, phone no etc) and sign the forms. c) Affix a Rs 10 court-fee stamp on one form. d) Hand it to the Public Information Officer (PIO) at the relevant Collector's office in person. I think Collector (North) in Panjim deals with Pernem and Collector (South) in Margao with Canacona. e) Take the Received stamp and signature from the Inward clerk on the other copy and retain it for your records. e) Verbally communicate to the PIO that you want only the certified copies of the sanad for now, not the plans that accompany them. f) Ask for the telephone number of the office so you can make follow-up calls in about 2 weeks. - If you find the proforma I have provided not to your liking, please draft your own. - If you file an application, make a post on Goanet to that effect so that multiple applications are not submitted (that will give the Collector an excuse to delay all requests on the grounds that his office is swamped). - If the volume of conversions is large (which we expect them to be), the photocopying charges can be rather high (1000 rupees and above). I expect that several Goanetters will be willing to pick up the tab. So let that not deter you. - Some of you could also pursue similar applications for the talukas of Ponda, Sanguem and Sattari.
