Release of Archbishop's Pastoral Letter
Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao will be releasing his Pastoral Letter for the
Pastoral Year 2008-2009 on the 1st of June, 2008, at the end of a special
Mass, organized for the occasion at St. Anne's Church, Parra. The Mass is
due to begin at 8.30 a.m. This will be his fifth Pastoral Letter, since he
has assumed office in 2004. The Archbishop has made it a practice to issue a
Pastoral Letter (Letter of the Shepherd to his flock) at the beginning of
the Pastoral Year of the Archdiocese (June to May), elaborating on the theme
of the Year. The theme chosen for this Pastoral Year is "Rooted In Faith,
Go, Spread the Jesus Glow." Although the Letter - written originally in
Konkani, with an attached English translation - is meant mainly for the
Catholic community of the State, it is addressed also "to all people of good
will" and it seeks the collaboration of followers of different faiths in the
pursuit of interests common to the Goan community at large.
