2008/5/31 Paulo Colaco Dias <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: I can only laugh at Churchill's claim that there are 10 lakh Goan population residing in the UK. Does he really believe there are 1 million Goans in the UK? What a joke!! Ahahaha!!!
== jc's response: My dear Paulo, Please do not disparage the brilliant, erudite and social working former approx 13 day CM of Goa Xri Churchill de Alemanha. Churchill did mean not say that there were 1 million (10 lakh) Goan persons residing in the UK. He mis-spoke and was further mis-communicated by whoever wrote the news item (And even if he did ...what is a couple of 10 lakhs between friends?) BTW: The Hon Churchill merely said that there are 10 lakh-Goans in the UK. He considered you, Rene, Eddie et al as being the 10 lakh worth (at least) Goans in the UK. (Churchill himself is a Crore-Goan). jusht only setting the record right. jc Not a Lakh-Goan or as known in Portuguez as "Lacisto", Lakhwalla in 'Bombay-Hindoostani', or lakisth in Concani. For those unaware - Concani is the language previously spoken by many Goans in Goa. It has been plastic-surgically and orthographically modified into the present form (unrecognisable to many Goans) and is known as Kokni (probably a variety of Cockney heard in East London) OK now ...time to get back to work.
