I read  only today (4 Jun), a BSNL notice in the newspaper stating that this 
Government of India Enterprise informs public that sample copy of New landline 
Telephone Directory 2008, are available at Customer Service Centres and 
Telephone Exchanges. We have to verify entries by  EXTENDED DATE 15 Jun(10 days 
after reading about it) and inform any corrections/alterations before 20/6 (5 
days after closing).After a over 6 years of their delay, we have to "JALDI 5".  
I RANG UP OUR  PORVORIM EXCHANGE AND THE OPERATOR IS UNAWARE.The usual run 
around,ring this number and that.No one will pick up the phone or it will be 
perennially engaged.
  The action Notices for public feedback invariably take people for granted as 
if they have nothing else to do, but run around at the bureaucrats 
convenience.Anyway,I finally rang up AGM as per the Notice TEL 2437543. An 
untrained operator tells me AGM comes  daily only at 11AM. She doesn't know 
why, or why this is not mentioned in the notice so we neednt waste our time 
calling.Also GM is on leave and there is no one else to receive our feedback ! 
Incidentally, I have to contact Pune to get a Directory enquiry, where operator 
has no idea of where Dhuler or Mapusa is, neither does she know concani, and I 
was referred to Bangalore for making a complaint! CHALTA HAI.
