I am a little shocked at the lack of news coverage to memorialize what day this, D-Day, the 6th of June. > The Allies lost more heroes on this one day in 1944 than in the five years of the Iraq war. > Just imagine what they were asked to do - AND DID - land on open beaches and assault vertical cliffs, all under withering fire from an entrenched enemy dug in above. Just imagine what gut-wrenching heroism it took to do that. > May those heroes rest in peace while the rest of the world now takes their heroism for granted and goes about enjoying the freedom that they brought us. > Mario Goveia. >
