Thank you Mervyn Lobo for your post dated june 3
I wish to state that I am very proud of the beautiful building that Germans
built on the Ocean Road (Dar es Salaam) with its gently swaying pine
trees. Germans had administered Tanganyika till 1917.
They used this building as a hospital for Europeans but they had a special
ward therein for Goans being citizens of Portugal. I too was born in this
special ward in 1934 and the officer who registered my birth was R. Bergner.

I was baptized in St. Joseph Cathedral by Rev. Vincent Schoenenberg OSFC
a priest of Swiss/German origin.

But I am not so sure if I could claim European (?) or for that matter
honorary German citizenship.

Antonio
